The Short Track Relay Race

The race features a crazy mass start followed by a 200 yard dash to the first buoy where you will turn 180 degrees and paddle back upstream 200 yards to another 180 degree turn. After the second turn the fun really starts as the team must jump into the water and be relieved by the second set  of paddlers This is repeated for a total of 4 laps. Winners of this race get their name on the highly coveted Rotary Trophy and get to display it at their place of business for the year!

Short Track Relay Race Rules

Recreational type tandem canoes and 4 person teams.

  • Open Team must consist of at least two woman or youth under age 16.

  • Family team must be direct relatives ie.. Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother. Exceptions will be considered

  • Youth team must all be under 18 years old and consist of at least two girls and two boys.
