The Predictor Cruise
The Predictor Cruise is a 5 mile cruise at whatever
pace you choose. You pick a time that you think you can complete the 5
Miler course in and then see how close you can come to it. The winners
of the event will have the closest actual finish time to their
predetermined time without going over. We'll have no-one sandbagging
it just before the finish line. You must continuously paddle the final
1/4 mile.
This is a fun family event with classes specifically intended to
encourage fun.
The Predictor Cruise Course Description
The Predictor cruise class starts at the same time
as the 5 miler with a mass start from the Mayville Pavilion. Head upstream passing the golf course and bridge until reaching
"Elvis Island" (2.5 miles). Turn around "Elvis Island"
counterclockwise and come back to finish at the pavilion. The
finish line will be downstream between two buoys placed even with the
covered band shelter at the Pavilion. Water depth varies from 1-6 ft
deep. The current is negligible and the course has no weeds. All known
underwater obstacles are identified.
