Official Rules

One serviceable life jacket/personal flotation device per person shall be worn or carried in each boat.

Only single bladed paddles may be used by canoeists in race events.

Any racer not finishing must report to race officials immediately after exiting the water.

Participants are duty bound to help others in jeopardy.

Any boat may be inspected before or after the race.

Winners in each class will be determined by order of finish.

United States Canoe Association rules will apply, with modifications.

Waiver must be signed by each participant at the race site.

The committee reserves the right at all times to modify, change and/or rescind the present rules and regulations.

Races will be held rain or shine. Preferably "shine".

3 x 27:
Minimum width: 33" on the top, at the gunwale line - 27" wide at the 3" waterline or 3" of draft. The 33" minimum top-width measurement and the 27" minimum waterline width measurement points may be separated by up to 14" maximum. 18 ½ feet max length.

Cruiser:
a competition cruiser is a racing type canoe the maximum length of which shall not exceed 18 ½ feet, with a 4" waterline width of not less than 14 3/8% of the length located within one foot of the center of the length.

Recreation Canoe:
a recreation canoe is any non-racing type canoe not over 18 1/2 feet long and may be constructed of any material. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited from all components of the race.
