13 Mile Course Description
Mass start from the Mayville Pavilion. Head downstream approximately 1/3 mile and turn
counterclockwise 180 degrees and head back upstream to the start line.
Continue upstream passing the golf course and bridge until reaching
"Bad Buoy" (2.5 miles). Turn around "Bad Buoy"
counterclockwise and come back past the pavilion to the dam. Portage
the dam while waving to Sally from the Mayville News (200 yards) and put in behind the EMS building and continue
downstream 1 mile to the lower dam. At the lower dam turn
counterclockwise around one buoy and come back upstream. Portage the
dam, wave to Sally again and then paddle the upper loop around "Bad
Buoy" again. The finish will be downstream between two buoys placed
even with the covered band shelter at the Pavilion. Winning race time
will be under 2 hours. Water depth varies from 1-6 ft deep. The
current is negligible and the course has very few weeds. All known
underwater obstacles are cleverly identified with the names of those
who have hit them!
